This residential addition and renovation was an effort to take maximum advantage of the site location and view and transform it from a nondescript ranch to a rejuvenated lakeside home. The design looked to add a full size garage, prominent entrance, enlarged living room and a second floor with a master suite and office. Spaces were configured to promote visual openness and light transmittance. Colors were employed to make spaces more intimate and create visual interest and mood. Unconventional siding materials of corrugated metal and cementitious clapboard were utilized to create durable, cost effective and maintenance friendly enclosures.
