The Savory Pantry - Saratoga Springs Store​

The Savory Pantry is a fine foods store that originates from Hot Springs, AK. They recently decided to expand into the Saratoga market and needed to renovate a storefront shop on Broadway. The overall strategy was to migrate their store brand but also update the look and layout for the Saratoga market. Offering a wide variety of specialty foods, The Savory Pantry prioritized development of their merchandising methods. We brought in Neal & Sweet Studio Designs (www.jonathansweetfurniture.com)  to design and fabricate the casegoods and display tables. The final space is a bright, open space complimented by the patina of the retrofitted industrial carts into display furnishings.

St. John's Episcopal Church - Hawkins Room Reno

Johnstown, NY

St. John's Church dates back to the founding of the city. The Hawkins Room is a Parish Hall built in the early 20th century. The age of the Hall made it poorly suited for the modern parish community. The goal of the project was to provide an accessible toilet room, sacristy and robe room while improving the social function of the space. By adding a ramp to the Sanctuary and a long counter and bank of cabinets with a reconfiguration of the partitions the space is now poised to serve the parish community for years to come with dignity and reverence.   

Fulton County Federal Credit Union - Retail Site

Johnstown, NY

The Credit Union made a strategic decision to fill a retail space within the new Walmart Supercenter. A primary goal was to expand an strengthen the FCFCU brand by adapting and updating the home office architecture to a smaller retail space. The project was executed as a design-build endeavor to meet the schedule demands imposed by Walmart. Design and construction were completed within 5 months.  

Raider's Cove

Johnstown, NY

The Cove was once a college pool. But when the pool would no long hold water FMCC decided it was time to find a new life for the space. Conceived as a student hang-out to support the new dormitory, Raider's Cove was designed as an alegorical shipweck in a secluded cove on a desert island in the Carribean. Using a more raw, industrial material pallet with vibrant colors created a kinetic hang out and performance space for students to blow off steam. It's a great place to grab a sandwich, kick back with friends, watch the game and relax.

Raider's Hall - New Dormitory

Johnstown, NY

Completed August 2012

This project is the lynch pin of FMCC's campus tranformation. All 144 beds were constructed as factory built modular units, shipped to the site, and assembled in the span of 7 weeks. The remaining 6 months of construction were spent building the foundation, finishing the exterior, finishing the common interior spaces and all the site work. The result is a clean, contemporary living complex for students that met a hyper aggressive construction schedule.

Union Stations

Johnstown, NY

The old dining hall in the College Union was a worn and dated space that was avoided at all costs. With the introduction of some new lighting, custom casework, furniture and equipment we transformed this space into a thriving hub of student activity. A space that is always occupied from the moment it opens until it closes. What was once avoided is now a staple recruitment tool in attracting new students to the campus. That is the transformative power of architecture. 

Transitional Services Assoc. Office Addition

Saratoga Springs, NY

TSA is a not-for-profit community service organization that needed to consolidate its case management staff into one office. A 5,000SF addition provided an open office plan with space for theraputic programing and office support. Designed to be a stand alone department, it is organized to create a safe welcoming environment for their clients and a professional work place for their employees.

St. James Roman Catholic Church - Porch Addition

Lake Pleasant, NY

Completed April 2009

Many churches were built when accessibility was not really a consideration. To correct that circumstance the St. James congregation desired to build a new covered porch that provided a covered ramp into the building. What was added is a modest front porch and two smaller side porches that change the face of the original church without changing its essential character.

TSA - Hedgerow House Addition and Renovation

Ballston Spa, NY

Hedgerow House is a community residential facility operated by TSA in Ballston Spa, NY. The original house was once a farm house on the edge of the community. As a transitional home for addiction recovery it was necessary to provide a better separation between office and residence as well as create a more open and defined entrance to the house. The re-organized plan added a new bedroom, a new bathroom, several offices and a transaction counter. The enlarged deck offers a more open, accessible entrance to the house.

Bassett Primary Care Center Addition & Renovation

St. Johnsville, NY

Completed December 2010

The original structure was just too small to contain the growing needs of this care facility. With a need to add staff and exam space, Bassett worked with the property Owner to build a new addition to handle the expansion. The key feature is an elliptical administrative check-in desk and nurse station that centrally orders the patient flow from arrival to exam to check-out to departure. It's tight but efficient and provides the staff what they need for an enhanced healthcare experience.
